Jesse Lonis landed his 64th six-figure score of his career
Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Jesse Lonis is having a productive run at the PGT Sprint series in Las Vegas. After sixth- and third-place finishes, the American high roller captured the title in the festival's third event. The $5,300 buy-in tournament drew 78 entries. Twelve players made the money, and Alex Foxen was the bubble boy.
Lonis reached the final table as chip leader and later eliminated Jim Collopy and Adam Hendrix. Heads-up, he faced Sam Laskowitz. The opponents struck a deal under which Lonis took $101,000 and Laskowitz got $78,400. The title and tour points were still on the line.
Laskowitz managed to double up and take the lead, but Lonis won back an almost 2:1 advantage. On the final hand, Laskowitz limped from the button with A♠️6♦️, Lonis shoved in response with A♣️4♣️ and got a call. Right on the 10♣️5♣️2♣️ flop Lonis made a flush, and the 9♣️ turn and 3♠️ river were no help to Laskowitz.
This was Jesse Lonis's 64th six-figure score of his career. Counting his two previous final tables, he has already earned $175,350 at the series. The American's career winnings have topped $34.2 million.
The PGT Sprint series runs through November 5. One more $5,300 event and three $10,500 buy-in hold'em tournaments remain on the schedule.
