Matthew Shepsky won the $1,000 Mystery Bounty PLO
Event #87 has wrapped up at the World Series of Poker: Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha with a $1,000 buy-in. The tournament drew 4,764 entries, generating a prize pool of $4,192,320. The winner of the event was Matthew Schepsky, who claimed his first bracelet and posted his best cash, earning $305,000 plus over $20,000 for ten bounties.

Notably, the bounty leader was Austrian Wojciech Barzantny, who knocked out 23 opponents but busted in eighth place himself. In the heads-up, Schepsky faced Chilean Alex Manzano, who won a bracelet in the $600 Deepstack PLO in 2024.

However, the heads-up lasted just one hand. Manzano moved all-in for 6.2 million chips with ♥️♦️♠️♥️, and Schepsky called with ♠️♠️♥️♣️. On the ♠️♦️♥️♣️♠️ board, the American made two pair, while the Chilean player's straight draw didn't come in. Manzano earned $204,000 for second place, not counting bounties.
"I started playing Omaha cash in 2013. I've played exclusively PLO cash ever since, I'm a cash player first and foremost. Right now I'm ecstatic. There's no better feeling than winning a tournament at the WSOP," Schepsky said in an interview with PokerNews.
