High Stakes Poker star accused of attempted murder

The victim, Kevin Gao — a regular on high-stakes streams — publicly revealed the dark side of living together with well-known poker player Lynne Ji. The domestic conflict between the two poker players flared up over jealousy.
Gao found out that Lynne had secretly been working as an escort, which triggered a confrontation at their shared apartment in Los Angeles. The verbal argument quickly escalated into a fight, during which Ji first bit him on the leg and then armed herself with a kitchen knife, broke down a locked door and cornered Gao in the room. Kevin managed to avoid a fatal wound by taking the blow on his left shoulder, which was left with a deep cut.
Lynne Ji, known for her appearances on High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark, was arrested on an attempted murder charge, but the very next day she posted bail of $1,000,000 and was released. On her social media she completely denies any guilt, but if convicted she faces 5 years or more in prison.
