Chess.com reaches 125,000 users
In early September, the popular chess site Chess.com launched the poker app Gambit. It's not just a program for playing poker where users can compete against bots and live players, but also a platform for learning the fundamentals of the game.
Chess.com's Chief Growth Officer Albert Cheng spoke about Gambit's core principles on the PokerNews podcast:
A month after launch, Gambit's user count reached 125,000, and they have played more than 35,000,000 hands. Cheng expressed hope that the platform's audience will number in the millions in the future. The community is already actively sharing feedback with the app's creators and suggesting new features.
Cheng also noted that in the near future the developers may consider adding pot-limit Omaha and mixed games to Gambit. And by the end of the year, Chess.com will likely add game modes for Go and Mahjong.

"No real-money betting. No rake. Only those elements of the chess approach that have helped millions of people learn the game, but applied to poker. And for experienced players we have daily tournaments and PvP modes."Gambit features 12 character bots with different playing styles. For example, Martin is a weak player programmed to make various mistakes. Nelson is a very aggressive player who often provokes action and goes all-in.
