Jason Koon inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame

Jason Koon became the only player inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2026. The 40-year-old American received the necessary number of votes from the 33 members of the Hall.

Koon ranks third on the world All Time Money List with a result of $77 million. He has two WSOP bracelets: the first won in 2020 in the $25K Heads-Up Championship, the second in 2025 in the $50K High Roller. Koon also holds the Triton Poker Series record for the number of titles — 12 wins.

In an interview, Koon admitted he was "shocked" by the decision to include him in the Hall of Fame.

"To be honest, poker has always been something special to me. From the very first hand, it became my whole life, and this romance has been going on for 20 years now. To be chosen by the greatest players of all time is one of the most incredible moments of my life. I was genuinely shocked when I was told the news, but I was even more surprised that I became the only one inducted into the Hall this year."

He separately noted the achievements of Isaac Haxton, Jeremy Ausmus, and Scott Seiver, calling them players who are also worthy of the Hall of Fame.

Among the 2026 nominees who did not make it into the Hall were Shaun Deeb, Justin Bonomo, and Chris Moorman. PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg failed to enter the Hall of Fame for the seventh time, while Mike Matusow extended his anti-record — 12 nominations without induction since 2013.
