CSOP founder accused of assaulting a player and his daughter

Aaron O'Rourke has publicly accused Charity Series of Poker founder Matt Stout of verbal abuse and physical assault. In the poker world, O'Rourke is a prominent sports analyst and poker coach. The incident took place late at night last Tuesday during a home poker game.

The cause of Stout's outburst was a visit from Katie Morgan — his former partner and the mother of his child. O'Rourke's 18-year-old daughter, who occasionally worked as a babysitter for Stout, had agreed to meet with Katie.

After the game, Stout accused the girl and her father, in a sarcastic and aggressive manner, of Morgan showing up at the house. When O'Rourke's daughter tried to take responsibility, Stout broke into shouting and insulted her. When Aaron stood up for his child, Stout escalated to physical intimidation.

This was already the second instance of such verbal abuse directed at the girl.
Making the situation worse is the fact that the players had considered each other close friends for many years — Stout had stayed at O'Rourke's house for six weeks free of charge and currently still owes him $20,000.

Shaun Deeb publicly backed O'Rourke:

"I've known him for years and I believe everything he says."

Deeb also sent Stout demands for an explanation. As of publication, Matt Stout and representatives of Charity Series of Poker continue to remain silent.
