WPT and WSOPC champion Mark Davis has passed away at the age of 46

On Saturday, July 25, World Poker Tour winner and three-time WSOP Circuit ring holder Mark Davis passed away. The American regular, who had $2.3 million in live tournament winnings to his name, died at the age of 46. According to PokerNews, the poker player suffered a stroke and was airlifted to a hospital, where he had a second stroke. Doctors were unable to save his life.
Davis's most successful year was 2022. In February of that year, he won the WSOP Circuit Cherokee main event, beating a field of 1,402 players and earning $334,678. And in April, the regular scored a best cash by winning the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. For this result, he received $1,000,300.
In the heads-up of the WPT event, Davis defeated WSOP bracelet holder Darren Elias, preventing him from claiming a record fifth World Poker Tour title. Before the tournament's final table, Davis reached out to well-known high roller Chance Kornuth, who became his coach.
Mark Davis recorded his last live cash on July 17. He earned $652 for 68th place in the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Mini Main Event at the Gulf Coast Poker Mid-South Mini Series in Mississippi.
