An AI tell-analyzer developer has created a new tool for poker players

Last week, we reported that ESPN used an artificial-intelligence tool to analyze players' tells during its World Series of Poker broadcasts. Its developer is Luke Gil, who works on AI systems for the U.S. Air Force. Alongside that, the engineer regularly plays poker.
Gil has announced the creation of a new free tool for analyzing poker hands — Poker Stream Clipper. The program scans videos for moments involving specific players or a particular pot size, then clips them for highlights. Over time, the developer promises to add recognition of multiway pots, showdowns, and other parameters.
The project grew out of Gil's desire to analyze his own hands from Garage Game Live streams. Previously, the engineer manually assembled highlights, rewatching broadcasts and jotting down timecodes in a notebook. The new tool should significantly simplify this process. However, the developer notes that the program's accuracy and functionality still need improvement.
In the current version, published on Gil's website, streams from Lucky Lady, Venetian, and Garage Game Live are supported. The developer also offered Hustler Casino Live, WSOP, and others the chance to test his tool.
As for the tells analyzer, Gil explained how it works. ESPN would send him a recording of a poker player's game after their elimination from the tournament, and processing and preparing the analysis took 8-9 hours. To criticism of the project, the engineer responded: "It's just a fun addition to the viewing experience. I'm not trying to destroy what you hold dear or make poker worse."
In addition, Gil noted that several professional players have already reached out to him to study specific opponents using the tells analyzer.
