WSOP 2026 Highlights and Oddities
The WSOP 2026 saw plenty of funny situations — Pokerflow picked the four most memorable.

1. The intimate card protector

62-year-old Brit Andrew Martin received a warning from staff for using a sex toy as a card protector in the $1,000 Super Seniors tournament. Martin claimed he couldn't find any direct ban on such an item in the series rules. The organizers then invoked the Rule on standards of courtesy and demanded that the silver device be removed from the table.

2. Smoke over the table

Joao Siqueira — a player in the $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em tournament — lit up right at the table and, when staff intervened, refused to put out his cigarette, for which he was disqualified. It later emerged that he had also been drinking alcohol and hiding chips in his pocket.

3. Santa Claus in Vegas

Charles Moore showed up at the Main Event tables in a Santa Claus costume. Moore was part of a notable hand in the early stage, winning a pot of 137,500 chips. Charles shoved all-in with pocket aces and held against the pocket kings of Brit Ryan Plant. Before scooping the chips, he cheerfully waved to his opponent.

4. The viral long sleeve

Video blogger and streamer Steve Green became the star of a viral meme thanks to a long-sleeve shirt reading "If my nipples are hard, I don't have jacks" — an absurd nod to poker tells, spread widely across WSOP social media.
