A dealer threatened a poker player with murder over a joke

A dealer at the World Series of Poker threatened to kill one of the players after a joke aimed at him. World Poker Tour champion Sasha "PokerSasha" Liu shared the story on her X account. According to her, the incident happened in a PLO cash game.

"We had a slow, elderly dealer. When he was being swapped out, one of the players joked: 'Finally we'll get to play more than three hands in 30 minutes.' The dealer suddenly stared him down with an icy look and said: 'It's a big world out there. You can meet me outside, and I'll find someone to take you out.' PLO is a wild game, but threatening a contract killing over the pace of the hands is a whole new level."

Liu said the players immediately called the floor, and several casino staff members began looking into the situation. The WSOP has not publicly commented on the incident, and the results of any investigation have not yet been reported.
