Brunson, Deeb, and Esfandiari leave the WSOP Main Event

The eighth day of play at the WSOP 2026 Main Event has entered the decisive phase of forming the final table. While the remaining participants continue battling to determine the official final nine, a number of well-known professionals have exited the tournament.

Todd Brunson, a member of the Poker Hall of Fame who was aiming for a historic family double half a century after his father Doyle Brunson's victory, finished in 20th place. Following him, Brock Wilson and 2019 Main Event champion Hossein Ensan, who stopped in 13th, exited the pre-final stage.

Nine-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb finished in 15th place, earning $410,475. Almost immediately after busting, Deeb registered in two parallel tournaments of the series and continued his race for the title of WSOP Player of the Year.
