Neymar played at the World Series of Poker a week after being knocked out of the World Cup

Perhaps Neymar is the most famous poker fan in the world of football. After Brazil's national team was knocked out of the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, the striker couldn't deny himself the pleasure of coming to Las Vegas for the World Series. The Santos footballer played in the $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

However, Neymar's run in the poker tournament ended fairly quickly. The 34-year-old Brazilian was eliminated well before the money, finishing in 220th place. Holding ♥️♥️, the striker went all-in on a turn of 6x7x4x7x against Lithuanian player Vitalijus Korsas, who had ♦️♦️. At that point Neymar was already drawing dead, as his opponent had made trip sevens. The river didn't change anything, and the Brazilian footballer left the tournament. The event is played in a freezeout format, which does not allow re-entries.

According to Hendon Mob, Neymar has won $116,632 in live poker tournaments. His only WSOP cash came in 2022, when he finished 49th in the $700 NLH Super Bounty tournament and earned $3,959. In December 2025, the Brazilian cashed three times at the Brazilian Series of Poker One Neymar Jr Edition festival, winning a total of $84,500.

On Day 3 of the $10,000 6-Handed NLH Championship, 37 players advanced, among them Russian Igor Kurganov, as well as Belarusians Alexander Shilko and Alexey Boyko. Leading the chip count is seven-time WSOP champion Calvin Anderson.
