WSOP Main Event prize pool exceeds $85m

The World Series of Poker announced on social media the final field size and prize pool for the Main Event. This year's Main Event drew 9,208 players, making it the fourth largest in WSOP history. Last year, the tournament attracted 9,735 entrants, while the record was set in 2024 with 10,112.

The Main Event prize pool reached $85,625,100. In total, 1,382 players will make the money, with a min-cash guaranteed at $15,000. The champion will take home $10,000,000 along with the coveted diamond-encrusted gold bracelet, and all final table participants are guaranteed seven-figure paydays.

Of note, 11-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey entered the fray at the physical deadline of late registration. Also remaining in contention is Phil Hellmuth, whose performance hinges on a side bet between his father, Shaun Deeb, and Jason Mercier. To recap, Hellmuth Sr. wagered $14,000 that his son would cash. Should he succeed, Deeb and Mercier must pay the 17-time champion whatever amount his son wins. Following Day 2d, Phil Hellmuth sit 1,604th in the chip counts with 37 big blinds.

Day 3 of the Main Event kicks off today at 20:00 BST. Returning to the felt are 3,294 players who successfully navigated the opening flights.
