Ocean KO format tournament set a Guinness record for field size
The Ocean KO format that appeared on GGPoker gained enormous popularity within just a few days. The $5 Ocean KO Opener tournament has already drawn more than 270,000 entries, despite three starting flights still remaining. In doing so, it set a Guinness World Record as the largest online poker tournament ever.

At this point, 161,476 unique players have taken part in the event, and more than 110,000 re-entries have been made. That number of entries made it possible to surpass the $1,000,000 guarantee and build a prize pool of $1,251,305.

The previous Guinness record was set back in 2015. At that time, PokerStars hosted an MTT with a $0.01 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. A total of 253,692 people played in it.
