Antonius named the amount he won in heads-up matches against Blom
Patrik Antonius, in the first episode of Jean-Robert Bellande's podcast "Broke Living With JRB", looked back on his heads-up matches against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom on FullTilt Poker. The legendary Finnish pro said that by his estimates he ultimately finished up $1.5 million. At the same time, Antonius noted that he found it hard to handle playing four tables.
"Those were crazy days. Blinds of $500/$1,000, and we were playing four tables, which wasn't ideal for me, but somehow I managed. I'm not good at playing more than two tables.

I'd never do it again. I like to improvise a lot, and I lose all my creativity when I have to play four tables and try to balance. If I have to make two tough decisions at the same time, I completely lose track of the other tables. But I did it against Isildur, and I had some good days.

In the end I did beat him. I won $3 million on the day I took down that huge $1.3 million pot, but either the next day or two days later I lost $2 million to him. Overall I probably won $1.5 million in the matches against him."
Antonius also said that over his entire career he has studied the games of roughly 15 of his opponents closely, and Blom ranks as highly in his personal list as Phil Ivey.
"Ivey and Isildur impressed me. Every time I watch someone else, I'm... not impressed. When Viktor was in form, playing his best, he was incredibly good. He's one of the most talented players, in my opinion. A natural."
The legendary heads-up matches between Antonius and Blom on FullTilt took place in November 2009. On November 21, the opponents played out what was then a record pot of $1,356,947 in PLO. Antonius won it with a straight he made on the flop against Blom's draw.
