Poker Player Beaten During a Casino Cash Game
An elderly poker player was assaulted during a cash game at the Shooting Star casino in Minnesota. The player was suddenly attacked at the table by a man who landed several blows to his face. The attacker then hurled a small table at the poker player and walked briskly out of the room.
Video of the incident was posted on X by another poker player going by the handle "TimeTravelerPoker". He said that Shooting Star was running games with stakes from $2 to $100 that day. It remains unclear what triggered the attack and whether the assailant was in the game himself. The elderly player did not sustain serious injuries and got up from his chair right after the attack.
TimeTravelerPoker noted that he did not record the video himself, and that the victim turned out to be a friend of his. Users in the comments under the clip criticized the casino's security for failing to act, and the attacker for a cowardly assault and running away.
Of note, in late August a fight broke out at Michigan's Davison Poker Room club. In that case, a dealer took a player to the floor after the player insulted him during an argument over the blinds.
