A winner has been determined in the heads-up championship at WSOP Online
The $10,000 Heads Up NLH Championship at WSOP Online wrapped up overnight. The semifinals and the final were played. The winner was Italian Alessio La Francesca.

In the semifinal, La Francesca beat Alexey "Avrora" Borovkov. The decisive moment in their duel was an unsuccessful bluff by the Russian regular. Borovkov shoved with J♠️10♣️ on a 4♥️9♠️8♦️8♥️2♦️ river, but his opponent called with 9♦️5♥️ and took the pot.

The Italian's opponent in the final was Pavel Pleshuv, who got past Alexander Shilko in the semifinal. Early in the match La Francesca was behind in chips, but he seized the lead after winning a straight-over-straight cooler. In the final hand, Alessio made trip fives against Pleshuv's two pair with pocket queens.

Alessio La Francesca claimed his second bracelet at WSOP Online 2026 and collected $352,561 plus a WSOP Paradise package. However, the Italian will keep only 20% of that sum, since he sold the rest of his action. 75% of it was bought by Finnish top reg Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden.

Pleshuv earned $211,536, while Alexander Shilko and Alexey Borovkov took $117,520 each. Avrora, by the way, already has another heads-up match lined up. Today at 16:00 Moscow time he'll play Dan "Jungleman" Cates on Phenom Poker.
"This match was planned a long time ago. It's not a promotional event, it's just that Jungle is a Phenom ambassador and it's more convenient for him there. Before Jungle I already played matches against Daniil Vasilyev and Snaka, so this will be my third public match," Borovkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
