A Russian player won $1,000,000 in Cyprus
Russian player Daniil Kiselev won the $5,400 MPP Main Event, taking home $1,000,000 for first place. The event drew a field of 972 entries and built a prize pool of $5,000,000.

At the final table, Daniil knocked out last year's series champion, Austria's Daniel Taller, and went into the deciding heads-up against Turkey's Mehmet Biskin with a 2-to-1 chip lead.

Two key hands decided the match:

First, Kiselev successfully picked off his opponent's bluff. On an A♣️Q♣️3♥️A♠️7♦️ board he bet 6,000,000 chips and called his opponent's raise to 21,000,000, forcing him to instantly muck his cards.

In the tournament's final hand, Biskin moved all-in with K♥️Q♦️ and the Russian called with 9♣️3♣️. After hitting a three on the flop, Daniil held on through the river and claimed the event's main trophy.
