🟣Timofey Kuznetsov will play the Triton Invitational
Legendary Russian player Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov will compete in the Triton Super High Roller Series for the first time in 7 years. He last appeared at the series in London back in August 2019.
Now "Trueteller" is returning to play the $200,000 Invitational. The Russian high roller will take part in the tournament at the invitation of Chinese recreational player Yan Jingyao.
The tournament kicks off tomorrow, September 12, with 56 pairs taking part. Kuznetsov will start at a table alongside Alex Foxen, Tom Fuchs, Teun Mulder, Ander Valiñas, Benjamin Heath, Jamil Wakil and Michael Soyza.
🟡The $30,000 NLH Turbo champion has been decided
The $30,000 NLH Turbo has wrapped up, drawing 70 entries. Only 11 players made the money. Nikita Bodyakovskiy finished seventh ($101,000), while Artur Martirosyan made it to the heads-up.
Martirosyan's opponent in the fight for the trophy was Alex Anton. The Russian jumped into the lead right at the start, but soon lost two big pots and shed 70% of his stack.
Then each player doubled up once, and Anton came into the decisive hand with a slight chip lead. Martirosyan shoved with 3♥️5♥️ preflop and Anton called with K♥️6♠️. On the 10♦️K♦️A♣️ flop the American picked up a pair, and the later streets 10♣️Q♣️ didn't improve the Russian high roller.
Martirosyan earned $411,000 and became the most successful player in Triton Series turbo tournaments, passing Matthias Eibinger. Alex Anton captured his first series title and took home $577,000.
