The Triton $50,000 NLH 8-Handed tournament ended in a deal
The $50,000 NLH 8-Handed tournament has wrapped up at the Triton Super High Roller series in Jeju. Pedro Padilha and Nick Petrangelo, who made it to the heads-up, struck a deal. Under its terms, the Brazilian received $1,350,000, while the American reg took $1,200,000. The winner of the heads-up, in addition to the title, was also collecting $50,000.

The heads-up was a rapid affair. The opponents finished off the tournament in just seven hands. In the final one, Padilha shoved preflop with Q♣️8♠️ for 20.35 million chips, and Petrangelo answered with a snap-call holding K♠️4♠️.

On the 4♥️9♥️A♦️ flop the American player picked up bottom pair, but the 8♣️ turn gave Padilha a higher pair. The 3♥️ river changed nothing. Pedro Padilha became a Triton Series champion for the first time in his career.

Nick Petrangelo, meanwhile, was once again left without a title. The US reg has only reached a heads-up at Triton for the second time, despite 129 tournaments played. That said, Petrangelo did manage to cut down his losses on the high roller series, which before this day stood at $9,170,000.

Alexey Boyko and Aren Bezhanyan were eliminated right before the heads-up. The Belarusian player first knocked out Bezhanyan, and then busted himself, losing a flip to Padilha. The Russian, who plays at Triton under the Armenian flag, received $574,000 for fourth place, while Boyko earned $697,000.

🟣Meanwhile, the record-breaking heads-up between Ossi Ketola and Patrik Antonius with a $10,000,000 buy-in has kicked off. The broadcast is already live on YouTube.
