Lex Veldhuis reached a WSOP final table for the first time in 17 years

Dutch player and streamer Lex Veldhuis played at a WSOP bracelet event final table for the first time in 17 years. He managed to do it in the $1500 Super Turbo PLO, which was the 14th event on the WSOP Online 2026 schedule.
The tournament drew 721 entries, forming a prize pool of $1,027,425. Daniel Negreanu also took part in the event and was even one of the chip leaders at one point, but he busted before the bubble. Veldhus, meanwhile, admitted during the event stream that winning a bracelet would mean a great deal to him.
Veldhuis reached the seven-handed final table with the third-largest stack. However, the Dutchman couldn't hang on among the leaders. Soon the streamer got it in against chip leader "Cursed79", who had K♦️Q♥️10♦️10♣️ and hit a set of tens on the 10♥️8♠️9♦️ flop. On the turn and river, Veldhuis didn't catch the outs he needed for his pocket aces and busted in fifth place.
The Dutchman earned $41,466, including bounties. "Oh my god, we were so close. This is tough, guys," Veldhuis sighed at the end of his stream.
The last time Lex Veldhuis reached a WSOP final table was in 2009, when he finished seventh in the $40,000 NLH 40th Anniversary and won $277,939. That result still remains his best in bracelet events.
The winner of the $1500 Super Turbo PLO was Finnish Omaha specialist Kai Lehto, who beat Cursed79 heads-up and took home $147,225 including bounties. The Cypriot player who finished second received $97,263.
