Evgeny Grishchenko put Russia in first place in the overall WSOP Online standings

Russian poker players have taken first place in the overall standings of WSOP Online 2026. This happened thanks to the victory of Evgeny Grishchenko in the Asia Championship event with a ¥800 (~$119) buy-in. The tournament drew a kilofield of 35,095 entries, which made it possible to build a guarantee of ¥25,829,920.
In the heads-up, Grishchenko beat his compatriot Pavel Ignatov in just two hands. In the second of them, Ignatov got it in with K♠️Q♠️ against his opponent's A♦️5♥️ on a board of A♠️J♣️K♣️J♥️2♦️. Grishchenko won thanks to the better two pair and earned ~$439,030, as well as receiving a $30,000 package for WSOP Paradise. This bracelet was the first in the Russian player's career. Ignatov took ~$343,275, setting a new best cash within WSOP Online. Third place went to Brazilian "Vandangoz".
It is Brazil, with two titles, that sits second in the series' overall standings. In third place is Spain, which also has two bracelets but no in-the-money finishes at all. Meanwhile, the Spaniards' total winnings amount to $254,737 — several times less than those of the Brazilian players ($3,250,769) and the Russians ($6,108,227).
Another 22 tournaments will take place before the end of the series. The Main Event with a $5,000 buy-in and a $25,000,000 guarantee starts on September 21.
