Michael Moncek won $1.5M from Andrew Robl on High Stakes Poker
The second-biggest pot in HSP history has been played. Michael "Texas Mike" Monchek managed to completely wipe out the stack of cash-stream superstar Andrew Robl, booking a win of $1,517,500.

In a game with straddles up to $16,000, Samih Elamawi opened with a raise to $40,000 holding A♥️5♦️. Monchek called with A♠️5♠️, and Robl called from the straddle with 6♣️5♥️. The flop 4♠️2♠️8♠️ gave Monchek a made nut flush, and he immediately bet $55,000. Elamawi folded, but Robl, with an open-ended straight draw, hit call.

The turn 3♥️ completed Andrew's dead straight. Monchek continued his aggression and bet another $150,000 — Robl called again. On the river came a blank 4♦️, and Monchek announced all-in for his remaining $490,000.

Robl hesitated but, knowing his opponent's reputation and his ability to bluff, still couldn't part with his straight. The entire pot went to Monchek.
