Phil Galfond has launched his own fund
Three-time World Series bracelet holder and renowned coach Phil Galfond has announced the launch of a fund for NLHE cash games. The American player, who has earned over $10 million online, has teamed up for this with top reg berri sweet, and also brought in Spanish high roller and coach Matias Ayes from Educapoker, who joined the team along with Joan Mingeza and Enrique Lago.

The fund has been named Sweetpoker, since Galfond himself played online under the nickname MrSweets28. In a big post announcing the launch of the fund, Galfond called berri sweet the best poker player in the world, since the strongest professionals refuse to play him heads-up in Omaha and Hold'em.

The founders promise individual and group lessons, hand reviews, a private community, and access to courses, notes, and various tools. At the start, the fund plans to recruit a group of 21 players. To this end, Galfond and his partners are looking for players competing at stakes above NL500, but they are willing to consider applications from players at NL200 as well. They will also review applications from PLO players and other formats on an individual basis. Applications are expected to take up to 2.5 weeks to review.

Note that in 2019 Galfond launched the poker room Run It Once, which operated outside the US until the end of 2021. In January 2022, the room ceased operations. The WSOP champion then sold it to Rush Street Interactive for $5.7 million. It was expected that a US-based site launch would follow, but this has still not happened.
