Negreanu was challenged ahead of his Hustler Casino Live debut
August 21, 2026

A few days ago we wrote that Daniel Negreanu would play a cash game on Hustler Casino Live for the first time in his career. And at least one opponent will be playing against the eight-time WSOP champion with a special mindset.
The most profitable player in HCL history, Nik Airball, decided to stir up interest in the stream with some trash talk. The American cash player threw Negreanu a bold challenge on his X:
Of course, Negreanu and Airball won't be playing heads-up. Also taking a seat at the table will be Andy "Andy Stacks" Tsai, Sam "Senor Tilt" Kiki, Randy "3Coin" Sadler, Steve Swedlow, "Dr. H" and "Jellyfish". The game will take place on August 28 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (00:00 MSK on August 29).
Airball has previously said on numerous occasions that tournament grinders can't compete on HCL. For example, Martin Kabrhel played five winning sessions and four losing ones on this show. However, the Czech's losses turned out to be considerably larger than his wins. In June, after losing $2,000,000, his bankroll went down by $1,875,500, but in a session a week later Kabrhel managed to win back $685,000. Since then, the Czech high roller hasn't appeared on HCL again.

"I'm coming for his damn head! Tell him to bring all the sponsorship money he can scrape together."In an interview with PokerNews, Airball added: "I predict that on my turf Negreanu will nit it up and survive. But if he starts getting into hands, he'll die."
