RomeOpro lost $14,500 in a session and failed to break the $300,000 mark
August 21, 2026

The marathon of Roman "RomeOpro" Romanovsky continues. On day 136, the Ukrainian regular was close to reaching the $300,000 mark. Since August 17, RomeOpro had consistently finished his sessions in the black, and by the end of day 135 his bankroll stood at $298,248.
However, the 136th session proved unsuccessful for Romanovsky. For the first time since late July, he went into the red by a five-figure sum. Over 258 tournaments played, RomeOpro lost $14,585, and his bankroll rolled back to the $273,663 mark. This is not Romanovsky's biggest downswing during the marathon. In late May, the online reg lost $28,500 and $35,200 in a single session.
Earlier we wrote that users of the GipsyTeam forum suspect RomeOpro of foul play due to his regular winning sessions of 500 tournaments. The skepticism persists, but at the same time players give him credit for his work ethic: "If he's playing on his own without software, this is the limit of human capabilities — nothing like this has ever happened in the history of poker."
As a reminder, Romanovsky began the marathon to run up $10,000 to $10,000,000 in order to pay off debts totaling $3,500,000. He planned to play 50,000 tournaments by the end of the year. He currently has 29,245 MTTs played to his name. RomeOpro has completed 2.84% of his stated goal.
