Aleksandr Shilko reached the final table of the Onyx Main Event

Day 2 of the Onyx High Roller Series Main Event with its $25,500 buy-in wrapped up with the final table set. Among players from the post-Soviet region, only Alexander Shilko remains in the fight for the title. The Belarusian reg will start the final table with the fourth-biggest stack of 65 big blinds.

Starting the day with 2.5 BB, Gia Skhulukhia managed to build up a little, but busted in 36th when he got it in with AKs against the A4 of Daniil Kiselyov. Skhulukhia took home a min-cash of $50,000. The same payout went to several other Russians: Dmitry Gromov, Arseniy Karmatsky, Alexey "Avrora" Borovkov and Alexey Gortikov.

"Didn't last long, busted 30th. Sat around, folded a lot, then put in a good stack with AQs against KJs and lost. I made two entries and got the minimum buy-in back. I'm going to rest, think about what I'll play next. Maybe nothing at all," — Borovkov said on his Telegram channel.

Boris Kolev, who had been one of the chip leaders, went out in 17th place and earned $85,000. Daniel Rezaei shoved all-in with ♣️♠️, and the Bulgarian, holding a smaller stack and ♠️♦️, called. On a ♦️♣️♦️♥️2️⃣ board the Austrian held thanks to the better kicker.

Shortly before the final table bubble, Daniil Kiselyov busted. The Russian got it in with ♠️♣️ and got a snap-call from Raúl Canme with ♦️♣️. The ♥️♥️2️⃣♦️2️⃣ board didn't improve the Russian, and he finished 13th, earning $100,000.

Canme later knocked out the Brit Ravi Sheth in 10th place, thereby ending Day 2. The player from the Netherlands will start the final table as chip leader, while Fahredin Mustafov, who has just 2.5 BB left, will return to the table with the shortest stack.

The Main Event winner will earn $1,250,000, while the runner-up in the heads-up took home $800,000. Ninth place pays out $143,000. The tournament resumes on August 14 at 13:00 MSK.
