Aubrey Williams reaches the Ladies Championship final table despite a wave of negativity on social media

Aubrey Williams, a transgender woman and online pro from the USA, has reached the final table of the Event #68: $1000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship at the WSOP.

After three days of play, six players remain out of 1,475 entries. The winner will receive $194,630 and a WSOP gold bracelet.

Earlier, at the top-25 stage, Aubrey faced a wave of criticism on social media over her participation in a women's tournament, but the player herself remained indifferent to the comments:

"I'm a woman, so I play in a women's tournament. It's not a political statement — I'm just playing."

Patrick Leonard and Global Poker Award winner Kaitlin Comesky openly came out in support of Aubrey Williams, noting that hateful voices online do not represent the position of the entire poker community.
