13 June — $250,000 Super High Roller

Seth Davies captured his career-first bracelet in the 2025 Super High Roller

In 2021, the WSOP debuted high-roller events independent of the One Drop charity. That was the year the $250,000 Super High Roller cemented its place on the summer schedule. Since then, this event has stood as the most expensive buy-in of the series, securing its status as one of the most anticipated and prestigious battlegrounds on the calendar.

In 2025, the $250K Super High Roller attracted 63 runners to generate a massive $15,513,750 prize pool, falling just short of the record-breaking 2024 figures of 75 entries and an $18,675,000 prize pool. Seth Davies emerged victorious, securing not only his maiden WSOP bracelet but also a career-best cash of $4,752,551.

Heading into WSOP 2025, Davies was widely considered one of the best players without a bracelet. In the heads-up finale of the Super High Roller, he swiftly defeated Alex Foxen, who had held a similar title until 2022. Ironically, Foxen snapped his own titleless streak in the very same $250K Super High Roller. Perhaps this year, Ben Tollerene, Maria Ho, or Christoph Vogelsang should jump into the mix to continue the trend and claim their long-awaited hardware.

21 June — $50,000 Poker Players Championship

Negreanu lets the emotion run free after capturing his first bracelet in 11 years at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship

This tournament is widely regarded as the second most prestigious event of the summer, though many elite pros value it above all others. Winning the Poker Players Championship requires the ultimate demonstration of versatility and skill, as players must outlast their opponents across nine distinct poker disciplines, including No-Limit Hold'em, Seven Card Stud, Pot-Limit Omaha, Razz, and 2-7 Triple Draw.

The event also holds deep historical significance, paying tribute to the legendary Chip Reese. In 2006, Reese won the inaugural Poker Players Championship after an epic 7-hour heads-up battle against Andy Bloch. Tragically, Reese passed away just months later, making that bracelet the final one of his storied career. Since 2008, the champion of the PPC is awarded the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy alongside the gold bracelet—a unique honour unmatched by any other event on the schedule.

The conclusion of the 2024 Poker Players Championship was pure drama. Daniel Negreanu took down the title, snapping an 11-year WSOP drought. The Canadian icon could not hold back his tears as the rail chanted his name. Then, in 2025, Michael Mizrahi rewrote the history books once more.
